2023 Volvo XC100 Redesign – Volvo is expected to launch a new flagship SUV in the next few years. Some believe that the 2023 Volvo XC100 will be the largest cross-country model Volvo XC available from the Swedish manufacturer, with a similar look to the Mercedes-Benz GLS or BMW X7. look It makes a lot of sense because although the New Volvo XC90 is big enough for most European customers, buyers in the US or China won’t say no to something with a few extra inches around it.
In the meantime, we expect and are still waiting for Volvo to reveal more info about what it will do with the XC100, or even whether to launch such a model.
Design
The Volvo XC100 really gets a very minimalist approach that strongly represents Scandinavian design principles, but gives it a different spin. The SUV looks like the son of a Tesla Cyber Truck and Land Rover Defender. It has a first-angled surface and oversimplifying lines and the latter’s presence and implied off-road capabilities. It’s a great-looking car.
We understand that the 2023 Volvo XC100 will have a length of about 30cm from the Volvo XC90, so this will be slightly longer even than the BMW X7. The extra length will be visible at the wheelbase (the distance between the front and rear wheels) and the rear overhang, so the rear passenger and luggage space will be better than in the XC90.
The vehicle depicted in this image is the creation of Kevin Goldwasser, a transport design specialist, and represents an apprentice product at Volvo. We don’t know if this project gives him a permanent job with Sweden or not, but we hope it works.
Full Electric
Volvo Cars will only sell electric cars by 2030 and divert all online sales, meaning it will get a fully electric powertrain. Both stories don’t always exclude each other – you could also have a non-Content XC100 Ulan if it’s available.
Volvo has given the Volvo XC100 the internal code name V616 with the first 6 identifying it as the largest Volvo model, the first to mark it as a first-generation car, and the last six as an SUV. The Volvo XC100 is expected to arrive with several engine options, including a plug-in hybrid, and a fully electric option, and will share the SPA2 platform with an electric Polestar model that will take the top spot in the company’s lineup
We expect the 2023 Volvo XC100 will feature a mix of high-end powertrains from the manufacturer’s lineup, with entry-level editions using petrol-based lightweight hybrid set-ups, and alternatives available with plug-in hybrids and pure electric configurations.
Price Release
Volvo will mostly target markets such as China and North America with its largest SUVs, although it will most likely also be sold in Europe. The Volvo XC100 Recharge will launch in 2023 and land with an estimated starting price of $85,100.
The latest generation Volvo XC100 will not be the only new member of the company’s burgeoning lineup as Lex Kerssemakers, head of Commercial Operations, announced plans three years ago for the 20 Series. That just means the XC20 is on the agenda, perhaps with electric power as well because it seems to be the current norm at Volvo.
